ITINERARY

 

Experience authentic yoga and meditation in some of the most sacred spots on Earth with internationally renowned yoga masters along the way! Make new lifelong friends and deep bonds as we move through magical India, winding our way through a mystical tapestry of the ancient, the timeless and the profound.

Points of interest along the way include Mathura & Vrindavan- legendary birthplace, youth and temples of Lord Krishna, Agra- host of one of the seven wonders of the world, the majestic Taj Mahal, Amritsar- home of ” The Golden Temple” and holiest city to Sikhs & Kundalini Yogis, Rishikesh- home to yogis & sages for millennia and destination of the International Yoga Festival at Parmarth Niketan.

DAY 1 – Feb 21 | Delhi- Day of Rest

Arrive Delhi International Airport for transport to hotel. First day and/or evening is for resting and journey orientation. Group leaders and assistants will meet with individuals and group to welcome you to India,  journey itineraries and other important information & clarity for the tour.

DAY 2 – Feb 22 | Mathura/Vrindavan/Agra

The birthplace of the legendary Lord Krishna is considered to be one of the holiest areas of India. It’s temples and countryside are a beautiful representation of the deep spirituality, color and splendor of this awe-inspiring country. In the morning of our first day we will visit the birthplace of Lord Krishna, Mathura, and it’s main hilltop temple honoring his birth.

From there we will drive to Vrindavan which was the countryside that Krishna roamed as a young boy & man playing his sublime flute to the sacred cows and beautiful “gopis”. This is also the home, home temple and guesthouses of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness movement. We’ll have lunch in the MVT Govinda’s restaurant for some of the most blessed & yummy food you’ll find in all of India. We’ll visit the ISKCON Temple after lunch.

After lunch we’ll drive to Agra, home of one of the 7 wonders of the world, the majestic Taj Mahal, for an afternoon of rest, evening practice and dinner. (B,L,D)

DAY 03 – Feb 23 |  Agra

This day will be a day of deep yoga & meditation practice, contemplation and journaling. Gurunam Singh and Bhagat Kaur will lead and co-lead yoga, meditation and mantra immersions that will correspond to and facilitate deeper learning in our personal practice of yoga and/or our service to others as teachers. (B,L,D)

Day 04 – Feb 24 | Agra/Delhi

Post early morning sadhana and breakfast in the golden hours of a fresh day we will venture to one of India’s most incredible World Heritage sites, one of the seven wonders of the world and stunning architectural enigma, the Taj Mahal. You’ll experience it’s history and story first-hand with a walking tour through its meticulous gardens and sacred geometric complex led by Shakti, our personal multi-lingual India guide.

After the Taj Mahal we’ll take lunch locally and return to Delhi for a restful night of reflection and rest for the rest of our journey. (B,L,D)

 

DAY  05 – Feb 25 | Day Train & Arrival Amritsar

Early morning train departure from Delhi to Amritsar.

Arrival in Amritsar, the most sacred city for Sikhs. Upon arrival we will be met and transferred to the hotel.

We will enjoy many visits to and practices at the Golden Temple. Located in the heart of the city, it is the most visited attraction of Amritsar and a sacred pilgrimage site for millions of people from around the world.

Characterized by its four entrance doors (called deoris) in all four directions and the tastefully decorated shrines, the Golden Temple welcomes everyone regardless of the religion or faith one follows. The stunning sanctum, shimmering in the water of the holy tank, flanked by spotlessly clean marble walkways and pavements makes it breathtakingly beautiful. (B,D)

DAY  06 – Feb 26 | Amritsar

The early hours before the sunrise, the Amrit Vela, at The Golden Temple is an extraordinary experience! Visit the Golden Temple for an enchanting start to the day you will never forget! After breakfast experience special group meditations on the grounds of one of the most spectacular holy temples on Earth. In the afternoon visit special local shops and the bazaars around the temple.  (B,L,D)

DAY 07 – Feb 27  |  Amritsar

The early hours before the sunrise, the Amrit Vela, at The Golden Temple is an extraordinary experience! Visit the Golden Temple for an enchanting start to the day you will never forget! After breakfast experience special group meditations on the grounds of one of the most spectacular holy temples on Earth. In the afternoon visit special local shops and the bazaars around the temple. We will depart Amritsar for overnight train to Hardiwar. (B,L,D)

DAY 08 – Feb 28 |  Haridwar/Rishikesh

Upon arrival at Haridwar railway station, we will be met and transferred approximately one hour to Rishikesh where we will check into and overnight at Parmarth Niketan Ashram.  (B,L,D)

 

DAY 9 through Day 15 – Mar 1 through Mar 8  |  Rishikesh

Early Morning, Day and Evening Yoga Classes & Special Events during International Yoga Festival, Rishikesh and participation in Daily Prayer Services. Overnight at Ashram.  (B, L, D).

DAY 16 – Mar 08 | Rishikesh, Haridwar, Delhi

 It’s our final day of Aquarian Sadhana on the Ganga! Cars will pick us up from Parmarth Niketan and return to Delhi for return flights.
